Over three million journeys using Railcard in first year
A year on from its launch, over 215,000 Two Together Railcards have been sold and more than three million journeys made using the Railcard, according to the Rail Delivery Group.
The RDG says that the average cardholder has saved £127.48 on rail travel over the course of the year, including the £30 cost of the Railcard, a total saving of over £20 million.
21% of Railcards were purchased in the London area, while London King’s Cross was the station which sold the most Railcards over the course of the year. The most popular destinations for travel included London, Manchester, Edinburgh and York.
The Railcard gives two named people a third off rail fares when they travel together and can be used for travel after 09.30 Monday to Friday and at any time on weekends and bank holidays.
