Matt Byrne has been appointed as Bombardier Transportation’s President, UK Region, following the resignation of Phil Hufton.

Mr Hufton joined Bombardier in October 2018 from Network Rail, where he had been Managing Director, England & Wales, prior to which he was Chief Operating Officer at London Underground. He has resigned from Bombardier for personal reasons, although will stay at the company for a short period to ensure a smooth handover.

Mr Byrne joined Bombardier in 2000 and has held various senior leadership positions, including leading the company’s Global Services business since 2016. He holds a degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Manchester. He will be replaced as head of Global Services by Robert Young, currently Head of Operational Support, Global Services.
